Followers Demand Detainment of Man Who Touched Ariana Grande
Passionate followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who breached a barricade and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or deported from Singapore.
A widely shared clip shows the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
Record of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last December.
"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user questioned.
Fans Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being
Many supporters criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said one more response on Instagram.
Several supporters also faulted guards at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others called for digital services to block Mr Wen's uploads.
Reaction and Event Details
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
Numerous of supporters had assembled in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-part version of the popular stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two distinct sorceresses.
The show itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.
They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, earning several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
