Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
