Los Angeles Erupts in Jubilation as Los Angeles Dodgers Secure Second World Series Victory
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area events featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.
The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the field.
Early Celebrations and Player Reactions
Celebrations began well before the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke plainly about the victory.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

However, the team owner received a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a combination of applause and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his address.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
