Tottenham Hotspur fans who jeered keeper Vicario were told later "those individuals cannot be real Spurs supporters" by manager Thomas Frank.

Tottenham let in a pair of goals in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, registering their 10th Premier League at home loss of 2025.

However the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' second score when Vicario lost possession far beyond his area.

The goalkeeper ventured out to handle a long ball and took the ball near the touchline.

However, rather than booting it out of play, the Italy international turned and tried to clear, but slipped as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was collected by Josh King.

The forward laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Harry Wilson, who curled a strike into the goal from the touchline measured at 36.6 metres.

Moments afterwards when the ball came to the keeper again, some Spurs supporters jeered him.

The team were jeered off at half-time, with the club 2-0 behind, and again at full-time.

A particular of those jeering sessions really angered the manager.

"I heard a few of our supporters reportedly jeered the incident and jeered after, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Dane stated regarding the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.

"[They] can't be true Spurs fans that do that. Fair enough jeering after the match, no problem, but when we are in play, we are backing each other, we are behind one another going forward."

Tete had given Fulham a fourth-minute advantage prior to Harry Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second period showing.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Joe Hart stated that the second score was "completely avoidable".

"I do understand the supporters' disappointment," the ex-keeper continued. "I am aware the part Vicario is performing. He's a great squad member, he is a true leader in the dressing room but in the end you are going to be judged by your actions.

"The keeper was deeply implicated in what ended up to be the winning score."

'It is In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Italian national team the keeper is in his third season with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old said after the game that he had to take the criticism.

"The second score was a mistake of mine, I take responsibility for that," he commented.

"My aim was to kick the ball far and I simply hit the ball in a bad manner. It was an even bigger mountain to overcome."

He said receiving jeers "is part of the game".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "The team cannot be affected by the situation in the stands. The fans have the right to do what they think.

"It's on the team to remain more calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are missing in calmness and calmness to reverse results. Today is a bad loss and it is tough to accept."

'I Was Surprised Nobody Went Back to the Line'

Despite Vicario's mistake, it was not an simple score for Wilson to score.

'During in a Poor Run, Everything Seems to Work Against You'

While the keeper's error led coverage, this was an all-round poor day for Tottenham to extend their home struggles.

This was their 10th at home loss of 2025 in the league, a shared team statistic matching 1994 and two thousand and three.

They still have home games against the manager's old side Brentford and champions the Reds to come prior to the end of the season.

Only one of those victories have come since Frank took over from his predecessor in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 after the opening, there is a mountain to climb," said the boss.

"During in a poor run, everything appears to work against you too – the opening was a redirected shot, the second is a error from the keeper.

"This result puts us in a position where we have lost an additional match. Every game has a single story, today we lost in the early stages.

"We simply need to continue striving. The second half was significantly improved and with luck something we can use to learn."

Tottenham have lost four straight at home capital clashes for the initial time in the top division.

Furthermore they are recording 9.5 attempts and 3.2 efforts on goal per match in the division – their lowest averages on record in a one season (dating back to 2003-04).
