A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The track showcases a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
