Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
